A look at life

I had this idea out of nowhere. Granted, my moments of clarity, while seeming like bolts of lightning to me, are often viewed by others as obscure or entirely besides the point, if not a total waste of time. See I digress already. Here's the premise. You know when you have a toilet that won't stop filling, just not quite working, you jiggle the handle until it makes a seal and fills properly? I think life is a lot like that.

Life can sometimes be largely sleep walking, punctuated by moments of intense clarity, often accompanied by extreme discomfort and/or ecstasy. Things seem to go along in a spiffy or at least adequate fashion and then something that was no big deal, or, better yet, you were once completely unaware of starts driving you crazy. Life suddenly becomes really annoying. Everything is just slightly out of whack. Not really broken, but really crunchy. If you're alive I think you can relate. Things come out of nowhere sometimes and that is a test of faith.

I don't know if anyone got anything out of that except me, so let me summarize. If it's not broken, don't fix it. If it is something where one can accept the things one cannot change, or find the courage to change the things one can, or better yet find the wisdom to know the difference, great. Otherwise do what I do, jiggle the handle, walk away, and go about your business.

Welcome to blog land, Honey! What a wonderful start to your blogging career! I hope that I provide more ecstasy than extreme discomfort! (After all, I'm only aiming for a dull, though all-consuming throb!)
